On Amazon the biggest cost is usually the referral fee: a share of every sale, taken from the full price the buyer pays. Add the selling plan, fulfilment, ads and returns, and a good-looking price can still lose money. The free Shop-Check works it out from one typical product and tells you the three things worth changing first.

Numbers for amazon.de, with amazon.com where it differs. Example: an item for €30.00.
The referral fee
Amazon takes a share of every sale. On amazon.de it is 15% in most categories and 7% for computers, with a minimum of €0.30 per item. On a €30.00 item at 15% that is €4.50.
Charged on the total price
The referral fee is calculated on everything the buyer pays – including VAT and shipping – not on your net price. That is why it takes more than it seems at first.
Rates that change with the price
Some categories have tiers. Jewellery on amazon.de, for example: 20% on the part of the price up to €250.00, 5% on the part above. Check your category in the calculator.
The selling plan
The Professional plan costs €39.00 a month on amazon.de ($39.99 on amazon.com). On the Individual plan you pay €0.99 per item sold instead.
Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA)
FBA fees depend on size and weight, and change often. We do not copy them into tables. Look up your amount in Amazon's own calculator and enter it as the shipping cost. Amazon's FBA calculator (amazon.de)
Fee numbers: Amazon's official seller pricing pages, checked on October 21, 2026. The Amazon calculator has every category for amazon.de and amazon.com. In the Shop-Check the platform fee starts as an example value of 15% – replace it with the rate for your category.
What the Shop-Check does for an Amazon seller
You say what matters most to you and enter one typical product: price, purchase price, shipping or FBA fee, ads and returns.
You see what is left per order and per month, and which cost takes the biggest share.
You get at most three next steps, sorted by what they are worth. Each one opens the matching tool with your numbers already filled in.
Free, no sign-up and no Seller Central connection. Your numbers stay in your browser, and every formula is explained.
No. You type in one typical product. The calculation runs in your browser, and your numbers are not sent to us.
Is the Shop-Check really free?
Yes. You need no account and no card. Paid options are only for extras, such as checking a whole product list in one go.
Does it include FBA fees?
Only if you enter them. FBA fees depend on size and weight and change often, so we link to Amazon's own calculator instead of keeping our own copy.
How is this different from the Amazon profit calculator?
The calculator works out one product exactly, with the referral fee of your category, tiers and minimum fee. The Shop-Check looks at the whole order – fees, shipping, ads, returns – and tells you what to change first.
Are the fees up to date?
We took them from Amazon's official seller pricing pages on October 21, 2026 and check them at least every 90 days. Your Seller Central statement is always the final word.
